Miguel Velasco: Vice Principal & Head of Business Development

Miguel Velasco is an academic leader with deep experience in classroom instruction, international education pathways, and institutional operations. As Vice-Principal & Head of Business Development with Sunray Academy of Canada, Miguel oversees the daily academic and operational functioning of the school. His responsibilities span enrollment, regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and academic reputation.

Miguel began teaching at the age of 19, working with students in Colombia before expanding his career into curriculum design, academic advising, and international education within Ontario’s education system. Over the past six years, he has built strong professional relationships with principals, teachers, and academic leaders across Ontario, grounding his leadership in both classroom credibility and system-level understanding.

At Sunray Academy of Canada, Miguel specializes in helping students and their families navigate complex global education pathways. He works closely with learners from Latin America, North America, the Middle East, and other international regions, supporting personalized academic planning, credit recognition, English proficiency development, and competitive university applications to leading institutions in Canada and worldwide.
