Dr. Sunjay Gupta: Chief Information Officer
Dr. Sunjay Gupta is a physician-executive redefining senior living through the intersection of clinical expertise, operational excellence, and resident-first leadership. As President of MyLife Retirement, a subsidiary of Sunray Group, Dr. Gupta leads strategy, operations, and accelerates growth across a multi-site senior living portfolio across Ontario, and leverages his medical expertise and precision, and business thinking to places where dignity matter most.
A board-certified Family Physician, Dr. Gupta holds more than a decade of frontline clinical experience into his executive leadership. Licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario since 2011, he has sustained an active medical practice while ascending into leadership, giving him a rare and complete understanding of healthcare delivery from patient-centred care to governance and healthcare innovation. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine and completed his Family Medicine Residency at The Washington Hospital in Pennsylvania.
From 2011 to 2021, Dr. Gupta practiced full-time at Grandview Medical Center Family Health Team while simultaneously holding leadership and governance roles. He held dual Board of Directors positions for both the Family Health Team and Family Health Organization, where he managed multi-million dollar budgets, liaised with the Ontario Ministry of Health, and drove initiates in regulatory compliance. As Head of IT, he modernized digital infrastructure and operational systems. His Board role with Grandview Real Estate further expanded his experience navigating healthcare-adjacent business environments.
Dr. Gupta continued his clinical work as a Locum Family Physician at Victoria Commons Medical Clinic from 2022 to 2024, and holds a specialized certification in Botox administration for chronic migraines—reflecting his commitment to advanced, patient-centred, therapeutic care.
His influence plays an active role in shaping Ontario’s healthcare ecosystem. He serves on the Humber River Health Foundation Board (appointed December 2025), contributing to the healthcare infrastructure and philanthropic strategy, and on the York University School of Medicine Campaign Cabinet (appointed January 2026), supporting the development of future leaders. Dr. Gupta earned his Bachelor of Science with Honours from the University of Waterloo, building a foundation of analytical rigor that has characterized his entire career. His earlier education at Trinity College School in Port Hope, Ontario, instilled the discipline and intellectual curiosity that would define his path through medicine and business leadership.
Dr. Gupta believes in the transformational power of education, and is also engaged in medical education as a member of the Cambridge Recruitment Committee and as a moderator for Problem-Based Small Group Learning (PBSG). He actively mentors medical students and residents, transferring decades of clinical wisdom and leadership insight to emerging healthcare professionals.
