Holly Busacca: Director of Marketing & Communications
Holly Busacca is a versatile strategic communications leader shaping purpose-driven brand and marketing initiatives across a diverse portfolio, including global secondary and post-secondary education, hospitality, real estate, retirement living and commercial ventures. As Director of Marketing & Communications with Sunray Academy of Canada, she oversees corporate brand identity, storytelling, and integrated marketing-communications and public relations programs that amplify organizational purpose and build lasting engagement with global audiences.
Holly brings more than 15 years of experience as a journalist, strategist, consultant, and academic leader. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism & Media Studies from Rutgers University (USA) and a Master in Education from University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, both degrees intersecting to support her work in education—developing effective marketing-communications campaigns that reach students and empower them to follow their path.
Holly develops messaging, campaigns, and signature events to elevate institutional profiles in Canada and globally. She has led high-profile initiatives and events for clients including the Emmy Awards; Food Network; Mastercard; and Sarah, Duchess of York; and was a columnist for a New York publication with nearly 500,000 weekly readers. Her portfolio spans training in corporate communications and social media, demonstrated leadership in issues management and crisis communications, ghostwriting, and planning integrated marketing-communications programs for private organizations and academic institutions alike, including the University of Toronto, where she grew digital properties 900% in one year. Committed to mentorship in higher education, Holly has taught corporate communications and public relations courses at Centennial College, where she was named Distinguished Academic Employee of the Year for her inclusive teaching approach and breadth of industry expertise; she developed progressive curriculum and taught courses at Seneca College’s School of Marketing & Media; and is an industry liaison to students studying in the Faculty of Media, Creative Arts and Design at Humber Polytechnic.
